Holiday lights, Black Friday, etc.

I find it hard to believe but every year it comes up – a debate about when it is or isn’t appropriate to put up holiday lights.  To that I’d have to say two things… To those that put their holiday lights up before Thanksgiving – you have too much time on your hands.  Sometimes too much anticipation can lead to disappointment.  Why would you look past such a nice holiday as Thanksgiving.  That’s like having a Superbowl party before the playoffs.  Now for those who complain or otherwise feel the need to express their dissatisfaction with people who put their lights up early – you have WAY too much time on your hands.  Please tell me how it affects your life at all.  So you have to look at pretty twinkling lights in soft white or assorted colors …. is that going to kill you?  This drives me nuts - I don’t think anyone has the right to attempt to forcibly alter someone else’s life to make their own more comfortable – or did I miss something?  And for all those living in Ft. Collins where our tax dollars are so hard at work debating colored lights and religious expression during the holidays … don’t get me started!

As for Black Friday – let me make an observation.   If a store can sell an item to you at a sale price, that most likely means when they don’t sell it to you for the sale price, they’re bending you over.  Think about it … would you sell me your car at a low price that would make you lose money?  No, I don’t think you would.  Stop buying into the frenzy created by the media to keep retailers afloat when perhaps they should sink a little bit.  When you wake up that early to go shopping you just justify the behavior and feed into the scam.  And by the way, I bet I can find that TV for that price or lower on any given Friday (or any other day of the week.)  Do some research … don’t be one of the sheep.

O.K. – I feel much better now ….. Thanks for letting me vent – next time we’ll discuss happy things.

Thanx 4 listening!

This is my first post!

Indeed – the first revelation of the inner-workings of my somewhat twisted psyche.  Fear not … I will not reveal anything beyond what my mind is forced to process based on the society we live in.  I hope more to entertain and provoke thought by pointing out that which makes me go hmmmm (so to speak.)  Like David Duchovny on Californication.  For those who watch it you know what I mean.  For those who haven’t seen it, it’s a show about an author living in CA who has tremendous apparent talent, however he’s reluctant to use it until he’s forced to write a blog for a company that’s owned by the guy who’s currently engaged to his ex-wife.  He writes blunt, sharp blurbs about how strange the world we live in has become.  When he’s not writing, he’s sleeping with random women that he seems to stumble upon often.  It’s a good show – check it out if you get the chance (although the first season ended .. well.)

So basically, I have nothing in common with that character except for the part about writing a blog.  This is my first and only blog to date, but I look forward to blabbing into the non-existent yet vast entity we know as the web for those who may find entertainment in my words, or at the least I would hope to spur thought that may have otherwise not occured.  It will be fun … and I look forward to your input and please feel free to direct me to read your blogs if you have them.

Until the next post when I move past introductions and begin to bust out some proper logic …. take care of yourself and someone else!

And above all, Thanx so much for listening to 92.5 The Wolf!!!
